The Florida Wing of the Commemorative Air Force is a certified affiliate of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF), a 501-C(3) non-profit corporation with headquarters in Dallas, Texas. The CAF’s mission is to maintain a Flying Museum of military aircraft from the Second World War era. As such the CAF has 58 separate Wings and Squadrons with over 160 aircraft located throughout the United States. The Florida Wing has 57 members, all volunteers. The Florida Wing is a self-administered unit, governed by a seven member elected Staff. The conduct of the Florida Wing’s administration and operations is directed by the CAF’s by-laws and regulations. Funding for the Wing’s functions is primarily predicated on donations and a small revenue stream from the sale of aviation memorabilia. All donations made to the Florida Wing are specifically held within the Wing, although donations greater than $250.00 are reported to the CAF headquarters which is responsible for the official tax deductible notification to the donor.
